Truth opens eyes
Most prefer to be blind, rejecting truth. Oh, not outright rejection, it’s done in subtle ways, like passively agreeing, but not doing. Or pretending to not hear a particular part of truth, and having little concern that it mattered. Actually it matters very much. Truth will be the last man standing, when justice is accomplished. The blind are self serving, and not serving God.
“Then Jesus said to him, ‘Go, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only.'” Then the devil left Him; and behold, angels came and began to minister to Him.” (Matthew 4:10-11 NASB)
Some prefer the truth, even though receiving it can be brutal. Seeing what we are made of is meant to be humbling. We then have the opportunity to turn away from shame. That’s called repentance. God leads us to that place, away from worshiping and serving other things. When our eyes are open to the truth we can see the enemy who deceives the blind. Do you see the benefit of truth?
So, here is the truth. Receiving the Word of God is receiving the Spirit and life. “But He answered and said, ‘It is written, ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.'” (Matthew 4:4 NASB) God bless you abundantly.
