To the Kindhearted
Listen deeply to Christ’s words. So often they are quickly dismissed leaping to whatever’s ahead. Sometimes we think we know all that is meant by what has been said. We forget that God is talking to us by way of His Son, His prophets or His Son’s disciples . That kind of conversation is not a small thing. No matter how often we have heard His words, it is good to remember that He is God who is talking to us.
What does this have to do with the Kindhearted? We all live in a broken world and, until Jesus got a hold of us, we were all broken people. The Kindhearted wants to fix the the ones they love. Kindness will only go so far.
This is what Christ did and does to fix broken people.
Because He loved He sacrificed, so that we too are made holy. That holiness is brokenness being healed. That only happens through the word of God. Kindness alone cannot fix what is broken. The word of God must be heard and received.
If you’re kindhearted, I know you want to be fruitful. Ephesians 5:21-33 are instruction for a marriage that is blessed. May all of the men reading this listen deeply to the apostle. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.” (Vs. 25-27 NASB)
Wash her gently with the word, and be blessed by her radiance.
