Raised from the dead is an accurate description for a born again Christian. Humans are born of flesh, separated from God who is Spirit, and doomed to expire. That is our mortal state until the Spirit of God, living in His word, speaks and leads us to His Son, Jesus. Those who believe Him, like Abraham, are born of His eternal Spirit and raised from the dead.
“The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains,
The world, and those who dwell in it.
For He has founded it upon the seas
And established it upon the rivers.
Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
And who may stand in His holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul in vain
And has not sworn deceitfully.
He shall receive a blessing from the Lord
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
This is the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face—even Jacob. Selah. (Psalm 24:1-6 NASB)
This new life we have been given is hidden in Christ who is soon to return. Can you imagine His holy place, and that you might ascend into the hill of the Lord? Is this the generation that the children of Jacob will seek His face? I hope so.
