Our concern should be for all people. Yes, even for enemies. Those whose thoughts and deeds are contrary to God’s righteousness are the very ones God wants to save. How quickly we forget that it was love that brought us to Christ, not judgement.
Lamenting the past only happens when human glory fades. Now’s the time to to focus on the glory of God seen in His Son. History records one kingdom after another, all fade in their glory. Move on, for our King is coming.
“First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in high position, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity (seriousness). This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge (recognition) of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4 NASB)
