“THEREFORE IF ANYONE IS IN CHRIST,
this person is a new creation; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.” (2 Corinthians 5:17 NASB) This is what a was writing about yesterday. A new thing (for Israel) that God was going to do. “Do not call to mind the former things, Or consider things of the past. Behold, I am going to do something new,” (Isaiah 43:18 NASB)
I would not be surprised if God did something big to get Israel’s attention. Thousands upon thousands hearing and acknowledging the voice of Jesus, their messiah, could happen overnight. Saved, a new creation, Behold, something new. God’s Israel believing in Jesus. Amazing how Jesus’ apostles shed light upon the words of God’s prophets.
But what about us? Do we see ourselves as a new creation of God’s doing? Wow! total peace! God’s doing. Come, rest. It’s God’s doing! We are going to be changed, how long and hard it will be is pretty much up to us. Some struggle longer than others. It’s called labor, giving birth. Begin this year knowing that the “old things” are dead to you, God’s making something new. Powerful stuff in the word of God. He wants us to see how much we are loved.
