Is Your Eye Sore
Or has it been healed?
The world is an attractive place. That’s the problem. Many things to be desired. Things that are passing away, soon be gone, and be as though they never existed. That is why Jesus told us about treasures in heaven. God’s desire is to redirect our sight to things that are eternal, and have everlasting value. The trouble is the world is an attractive place, that is why Jesus taught us about the eye.
“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!” (Matthew 6:22-23 NASB)
What is holding our attention and why? These are questions that might lead to better vision, and life without stress. Come to think of it, that is our calling, to enter God’s rest. We can franticly spend our life seeking things that have no eternal value, and end without gain, or change our focus.
“But (Continually) seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you.” (Matthew 6:33 NASB)
