Now that believers are free, sin and death have no power over us. The Law of God no longer condemns us, we died to self and our life is now hidden in Christ. And one thing is certain about Jesus, God Son, He loves His Father’s Law. Now that we are saved the Law of the Lord is our fountain of healing bringing wisdom and joy.
“The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul;
The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.
The precepts of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart;
The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever;
The judgments of the Lord are true; they are righteous altogether.” (Psalm 19:7-9 NASB)
Just as I have loved you
Before you dismiss the Law of the Lord as being Old Testament stuff recall that Jesus gave us a new commandment. Follow this one and the rest are easy. “I am giving you a new commandment, that you love one another; just as I have loved you, that you also love one another.” (John 13:34 NASB) “Just as I have loved you.”
