“You examine the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is those very Scriptures that testify about Me; and yet you are unwilling to come to Me so that you may have life.” (John 5:39-40 NASB)
Our Creator will grant eternal life on the following conditions. Recognize Jesus as His Son and believe Him.
“For this is the will of My Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in Him will have eternal life, and I Myself will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:40 NASB)
God knows if we believe Jesus, our priorities will change.
“The one who loves his life loses it, and the one who hates his life in this world will keep it to eternal life.” (John 12:25 NASB)
This is where the James learned His theology of “faith and works.” Obedience is the fruit of faith.
“The one who believes in the Son has eternal life; but the one who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.” (John 3:36 NASB)
This is the glory of eternal life.
