Refiner’s Fire
“But He knows the way I take; When He has tried me, I shall come forth as gold. “My foot has held fast to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.” (Job 23:10-11 NASB)
Fallen, strayed, and just plain wrong was me over the years, and there have been quite a few. God has set my Goal, the beauty that is seen in Christ. He obeyed His Fathers will. I have not always been successful, but by God’s grace I have not turned aside held by His love that forgives. My trials are not worth mentioning, no matter how severe, compared to yours. I hope mine are over, no one likes to suffer, but if need be, they are for my good.
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.” (1 Peter 1:6-7 NASB)
The Goal of the gospel:
“Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith— to the only wise God be glory forever through Jesus Christ! Amen.” (Romans 16:25-27 NASB)
“obedience that comes from faith.”
