Paul has an Urge

He is the apostle to the nations. He knew the Old Covenant before Jesus taught him God’s New Covenant. God opened His eyes and Jesus shed His light. That apostle knows the things God means for us to hear. His job to let us know what pleases God and why. Paul is urging us to do these things, because God “wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” .

“First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made in behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” (1 Timothy 2:1-4 NASB)

Paul, would speak to us today if we would listen. He would teach us God’s ways, and we would know the heart of our Father, “who wants all people to be saved.” and to come to the “knowledge of the truth.” Wow! Can you believe that! “All people!” I guess there are those who really don’t care, but God does. There are some things we can do that will please Him; requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving in behalf of “all people.”

That is the secret of leading a “tranquil and quite life in all godliness and dignity.” Something to consider. I know this holy season has our attention. I have the urge to share this with you.
