“While they were eating, He took some bread, and after a blessing He broke it, and gave it to them, and said, “Take it; this is My body.” (Mark 14:22 NASB)
Now you are part of His body
“Now you are Christ’s body, and individual parts of it.”(1Corinthians 12:27 NASB)
And we each are parts of each other.
“so we, who are many, are one body in Christ, and individually parts of one another.” (Romans 12:5 NASB)
So also is Christ.
“For just as the body is one and yet has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though they are many, are one body, so also is Christ.” (1Corinthians 12:27 NASB)
Jesus is the Savior of this glorified body.
“For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the church, He Himself being the Savior of the body.” (Ephesians 5:23 NASB)
This is God’s will.
“then He said, ‘Behold, I have come to do Your will.’ He takes away the first in order to establish the second. By this will, we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all time.” (Hebrews 10:9-11 NASB)
This is what the sacrifice of Jesus’ body has accomplished for you and me. Something new. A new covenant. God’s declaration to all who will believe is that we have been made holy, sanctified. Now don’t argue with God. This is the power of Christ’s act of obedience, it cancels the effect of Adam’s disobedience. Oh, by the way, our old body is dead because of sin. The only one we have we now share in Christ.
I pray you are enjoying this amazing gift of each other.
