Did you know the patience is often required to inherit God’s promises?
Abraham is still waiting for His promised land. Saints are still suffering waiting for relief.
“And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.” (Hebrews 6:11-12 NASB)
Ahaz had to wait over 700 years for a sign.
“But Ahaz said, ‘I will not ask, nor will I test the Lord!’ Then he said, “Listen now, O house of David! Is it too slight a thing for you to try the patience of men, that you will try the patience of my God as well? Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.” (Isaiah 7:12-14 NASB)
Patience, a fruit of God’s Spirit
Patience is not something we wait for, it is needed for the victory today. It is best to wait with patience. The unsaved will try our patience, along with the saved. Abraham’s patience will be rewarded when Jesus begins His reign as King. Saints will endure and receive their crown, and we have no need to wait for a sign. With faith and patience we wait for our king.
