The Shepherd’s Voice

No shepherd ever said, “Are these my sheep?”

Our Shepherd knows His sheep, we were born into His kingdom as part of His flock, and from infancy we have heard His voice. Praise God, we would still be in darkness if we had not. Just like with Abraham, God spoke first and we believed Him.

“But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day would overtake you like a thief; for you are all sons of light and sons of day. We are not of night nor of darkness; so then let us not sleep as others do, but let us be alert and sober.” (1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 NASB)

The devil is putting on quite a show designed to distract the saints. Look around and count all of the issues that are forced upon us. Drama surrounds us calling out “Pick a side.” The word “sober” means self-controlled, not being caught up and playing a part in the devil’s theater. We are the children of light that can see the signs of the time. “Let us be alert and sober.”
