Our Song of Ascent

Israel had certain Psalms that were meant to recall the glory of being God’s people. Remembering the benefits of being chosen, and by Whom, was to stir up their spirit to give the praise that is due. There are 15 of them (Psalm 120-134) called Songs of Ascents.

“I will raise my eyes to the mountains;
From where will my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.”
Psalm 121:1-2

That is a wonderful place to start.

Most of my friends are the “rich poor”, they have cell phones. Thousands of them in the poorest of countries. Discrimination and persecution are their realities because of a relationship to Jesus. Not just those who are born again by God’s Spirit, but all born to a Christian family. Both suffer because of their association with the name of God’s Son, Jesus. This is becoming the State of the World. We need Songs of Ascents. Songs that start with us looking up to the One who made all of this.

I have heard the true State of the World through your posts and messages. I know there are some big lies too, but they are exposed by God. Lies are also part of the State of the World. There is never a time to look to man when thinking to ascend. We must say,

“My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.”
