Watching the for sale adds looking for a cement birdbath since shifting our lives from an island to the foot hills of a mountain range. There have been some that I liked, but too far away or to high a price. After months of patience I discovered one at a sale just a few houses away and at a good price. We have a wonderful Father, and I am building a little oasis for His birds. I get to watch as they rest, and think about what the Lord says.
“This is what the Lord God says: ‘I will also take a sprig from the lofty top of the cedar and set it out; I will break off from the topmost of its young twigs a tender one, and I will plant it on a high and lofty mountain. On the high mountain of Israel I will plant it, so that it may bring forth branches and bear fruit, and become a stately cedar. And birds of every kind will nest under it; they will nest in the shade of its branches. All the trees of the field will know that I am the Lord; I bring down the high tree, exalt the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will perform it.'” (Ezekiel 17:22-24 NASB)
Yes, watching birds rest while thinking about what the Lord says. Some of God’s statements require us to ask. Ask just like the disciples did when they did not understand. We can ask a human if we want an educated opinion, but why when we can ask God?
Who did You plant on the high mountain of Israel? A sprig from a lofty cedar, top most twigs, a tender one, branches bearing fruit, stately cedar and birds under the branches??? Isaiah had a way with words, and we have a wonderful Father.
