Ambassadors

“and pray in my behalf, that speech may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains; (literally “a chain” that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.” (Ephesians 6:19-20 NASB)

Now that’s an ambassador of Christ! Paul the apostle is asking others to pray for him. Not for money or health or even sucess, but that God would give him the words to say whenever he opened his mouth. Imagine asking others to pray like that for you.

Paul was focused on his job. Jesus gave him what was up till then a mystery, God’s will for man. Good news for those who believed God’ revelation. An ambassador is an evangelist boldly preaching the mystery of the gospel. Ambassadors plead for Christ. His Father does not want any to perish.

“Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.” (2 Corinthians 5:20 NASB)

Reconciled, made right with God, no longer in rebellion. Anyone can say, “God’s grace is sufficient, even for me.” We are called to be transformed into Christ’s likeness. Nothing is better than that. The truth is no longer a mystery, Christ died after He said repent and believe. He rose again, and now makes His appeal through those who do repent and believe. They are called Ambassadors for Christ.

Today’s photo reveals some of our snowstorm’s damage. Cleanups begun. Replacing the border trees damaged by the weight of snow and extending the cedar fence will wait until Spring. I have not run out of things to do and by God’s grace, still can do. God bless my readers.
