Found a pup wandering lost on a country road. Not a clue as to who the puppy belonged so, I named her Clue and gave her to my late wife. I was the substitute lap until six and a half years ago when her master died. I have been The Lap ever since.
Fifteen years have passed and she still follows me around, but I am thinking not much longer. Clue looked old following me up the hill. I tried to find a suitable verse, among forty, that mention dogs in the Bible, but could not find anything flattering.
The closest I came was the account of the Canaanite woman with the demon possessed daughter. “For even the dogs feed on the crumbs that fall from their master’s table.” (Matthew 15:21-28) Yet we westerners keep them as companions and pets. Something to think about. Clue will be missed.
