Good News

Lots of similarities between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant. Same God, same humankind. Same Sovern, same rebellion.

Salvation comes now as it did then, through repentance and faith. Same hope in God’s mercy, same blessings and curses. Same Lord and Master, same Messiah and King. Same call for obedience; “every knee will bend and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.” (Philippians 2:11 NASB)

“Just as a father has compassion on his children,
So, the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.
For He Himself knows our form;
He is mindful that we are nothing but dust.”

“As for man, his days are like grass;
Like a flower of the field, so he flourishes.
When the wind has passed over it, it is no more,
And its place no longer knows about it.
But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting for those who fear Him,
And His justice to the children’s children,
To those who keep His covenant
And remember His precepts, so as to do them.”
(Psalm 103:13-18 NASB)

The New Covenant is a covenant of love. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8 NASB) So, let us keep His covenant of love, remember what Jesus has taught us and follow Him. If we love Him, we will. “If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.” (John 14:15 NASB)
