Chances are your focused on something. Eve was. She wanted the apple. Sadly, Eve only experienced good until her attention was drawn away to what she did not have. We are no different. Our eyesight is often clouded by how we imagine things should be. Imagination becomes the goal to be achieved. Lost is the joy of waiting and watching for God’s purpose to unfold.
“Your eye is the lamp of your body; when your eye is healthy, your whole body also is full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness. So, watch out that the light in you is not darkness. Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, without any dark part, it will be wholly illuminated, as when the lamp illuminates you with its light.” (Luke 11:34-36 NASB)
Watch while you’re waiting. Answers to prayers are clearly seen when we stop imagining how things should be.
