So far, I have been able to figure out Who comes first. God! We are just like Abraham if we receive the Word of God spoken to us. If so, we have been given the authority to become a child of God. Believe in His name? It means “to save”. Then, that right is yours. God willed it.
“But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God.” (John 1:12-13 NASB)
He knew from before we were born who would be born again, who would receive His Son. And HOW His Son would be received. God the Father watches over those Jesus gave the right to become His children. Want to know how the disciples received Jesus? It makes all the difference to God the Father.
“On that day you will ask in My name, and I am not saying to you that I will request of the Father on your behalf; for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father. I came forth from the Father and have come into the world; again, I am leaving the world and going to the Father.” (John16:26-28 NASB)
They loved Him and believed that He came from the Father. Love and faith and lots of hope. That is how His disciples received Him. How about you?
