He is our authority
“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:18-20 NASB)
Some teach no need to baptize in the name of Three Persons. There are lots of different times and ways to baptize confusing the issue and providing reasons to argue. Jesus did not explain the reason and method, John the Baptist already did. The One with all authority was specific in His instructions. The misguided reject Three Persons being one God. Stupid! Jesus said all authority was GIVEN to Him (By Who?), and He promised another, the Holy Spirit, would be sent from the Father. Pride deceives itself and is led to challenge what Jesus said. It should not be surprising that an imposter would claim greater authority and a higher position than Jesus. Satan did the same in the presence of angelic beings.
“Go, therefore, and make disciples.” How?
By teaching that disciples are to follow all that Jesus commanded His disciples. Sounds serious, doesn’t He? Commands don’t agree with rebels, and they water-down Christ’s meanings if allowing them at all. Easy to see what’s up and what’s down when Jesus is our authority.
