John chapter 14

God’s light is for those who practice truth. Truth was revealed to a small group of disciples. Three years of living together was coming to an end. Jesus ministered to His soon to be grieving disciples by explaining more of God’s ways.

“Do not let your heart be troubled; (you) believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many (dwelling places) rooms; if that were not so, I would have told you, because I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I am coming again and will take you to Myself, so that where I am, there you also will be. And you know the way where I am going.’ Thomas said to Him, ‘Lord, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father except through Me.'” (John 14:1-6 NASB)

Chosen men

Christ’s disciples, the ones who lived with Him, are having their places prepared for them in His Father’s house of worship which will be in Jerusalem. “You are the ones who have stood by Me in My trials; and just as My Father has granted Me a kingdom, I grant you that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom, and you will sit on thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel.” (Luke 22:28-30NASB) Jesus is coming, and they will once again be together. Our place will not be in our Father’s house, but somewhere pleasant in the one of the nations.

What about us?

Thanks to doubting Thomas wanting to understand where his Rabbi was going, we now know the way to the Father. (To Be Continued)
