Jesus was comforting and preparing His disciples for His departure. He is speaking to them. We are gleaning truth.
13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you forever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.” (John14:13-17 KJV)
The Spirit of truth lives in Jesus who lived with them. That’s how they knew the Holy Spirit. And now that same Spirit of truth Jesus promised would dwell in them. Can you imagine what they might have been thinking? Whatever I asked?!! If I love Him? Dwelt with me?? I know Him??? Another Spirit in me….
Dear reader I pray that you ponder these things. The world cannot see or know, but through Jesus we do see and know for He dwells in us.
