Comforting Words #15

For those who are saved.

All creatures are of God and for God. They are His and exist for His purposes. The Creator gives some to His Son. God has already decided which ones. He knows who they are. Human beings who receive His Son, Jesus.

“I ask on their behalf; I do not ask on behalf of the world, but on the behalf of those whom You have given Me, because they are Yours; and all things that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I have been glorified in them.

I am no longer going to be in the world; and yet they themselves are in the world, and I am coming to You. Holy Father, keep them in Your name, the name which You have given Me, so that they may be one just as We are.

While I was with them, I was keeping them in Your name, which You have given Me; and I guarded them, and not one of them perished except the son of destruction, so that the Scripture would be fulfilled. But now I am coming to You; and these things I speak in the world so that they may have My joy made full in themselves.” (John 17:9-12 NASB)

I know, I know … Jesus only prayed for the saved, the ones who belonged to Him. The Bible is clear, most of the world does not receive Him as their Saviour, their Lord and their God. And they will proudly say so or cowardly avoid saying, but unless they change, they are already condemned to firry destruction; no matter what anyone might say. Today, God’s love and grace allow for change, it’s called repentance. The purpose of salvation is to be one with God. “… so that they may be one just as We are.”
