Is God Talking to You?

“Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ,

To those who reside as strangers, scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who are chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctifying work of the Spirit, (unto obedience) to obey Jesus Christ and be sprinkled with His blood: May grace and peace be multiplied to you.” (1 Peter 1:1-2 NASB)

We who are chosen by God are all scattered sheep, strangers no matter what nation we live. He knew who we would be. Lost sheep found. Now is the time for shearing what has been soiled by sin. And if you have the Spirit of God living in you then, you will know what I mean. We are being cleansed every time we agree with God and confess our sin, whatever that happens to be. We who were called were called to be holy, set apart and obedient to Jesus Christ.

So, why do I hear so many excuses? We are saved, or we are not. Correct? I know it is hard having your sin exposed, especially when it continues. The Good News is Jesus’ blood is the reason anyone can be forgiven. “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous, so that He will forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9 NASB) No excuses!
