Sound Advice

“Listen to advice and accept discipline,
So that you may be wise the rest of your days.
Many plans are in a person’s heart,
But the advice of the Lord will stand.
What is desirable in a person is his
[loyalty]kindness,
And it is better to be a poor person than a liar.
[Reverance for]The fear of the Lord leads to life,
So that one may sleep satisfied,
[not visited]untouched by evil.
(Proverbs 19:20-23 NASB)

God advises His children, corrects them when they are wrong, and life becomes easier as we become wiser. Then there is less arguing or ignoring God’s thoughts and ways, and more agreeing with what He has to say. His word is very reliable, what you see is what you will get. Truth!

Jesus is calling the needy, those in need of rest.

“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NASB) “Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find [a resting place]rest for your souls.” (Luke 11:28-29 NASB)

He is the Teacher of truth. Sadly, truth that most do not want to hear. I say “sadly” because I know what they are missing. Satisfaction, rest and a life set free from evil. Like colorful leaves, man’s glory will fall to the ground and fade away. My advice is to listen and receive what Jesus has to say.
