The reasons for God’s wrath
Ephesians 5:3-5 is a good read for self-examination.
“See that no one deceives you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.” (Ephesians 5:6 NASB)
We all are born the children of Adam, fatally flawed mortals. The darkness of the womb prevails until there is light, so it is for those born of flesh. God’s sons of disobedience, blind to the darkness of our ways, until God exposes us to truth. God’s Light allows us to see ourselves, most run, some stay. I know He knows the ones who will receive His Son, yet I still believe He left it up to us.
“Therefore, do not become partners with them; for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth) [as you put to the test] as you try to learn what is pleasing to the Lord.” (Ephesians 5:6-10 NASB)
light in the Lord
Light exposes what hides in darkness, they hated Christ. Now, believers are “light in the Lord.” Perhaps our lights have a dimmer switch? Seems safer that way, but very short sighted when not calling others to awake.
“But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light. For this reason, it says,
“Awake, sleeper,
And arise from the dead,
And Christ will shine on you.” (Ephesians 5:13-14 NASB)
