and Fire
You have probable heard some of His life story. Genealogy, fulfilled prophecies, miracles, conflicts, crucifixion and resurrection. But have you paid much attention to Jesus’ teachings? They warn and encourage. There is no changing what He said, but there are major benefits for those who are attentive to His words.
The Son of God is speaking for His Father. Listen to what He told John the Baptist.
“Then Jesus arrived from Galilee at the Jordan, coming to John to be baptized by him. But John tried to prevent Him, saying, ‘I have the need to be baptized by You, and yet You are coming to me’ But Jesus, answering, said to him, ‘Allow it at this time; for in this way it is fitting for us to fulfill all righteousness.’ Then he allowed Him.” (Matthew 3:13-15 NASB)
If you have turned away from Christ because of the words and deeds of Christians, that is a flimsy excuse, because you did not find fault with Christ; He fulfilled “all righteousness.” I hope you stay with me as we hear what He has to say.
