Entrance to the Kingdom

Did you find it?

Jesus told us how to recognize the entrance when seeking God’s kingdom. And even though He told and tells, few find it. Wow! Do you see how important it is to listen to Jesus?

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is narrow and the way is constricted that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14 NASB)

When Jesus says, “small the gate and compressed the way” (translation) to get there, that tells me we must draw close to see the gate. Distractions entice with bigger, closer, easier and more fun and are preferred by the shortsighted. Jesus’ way takes us to the gate. Remember He said, “I am the way?” (John 14:6) Jesus is the way; we are called to follow, to not expect an easy way, but one that leads to life.

Have you reached the gate?

Then you have discovered that Jesus is the way and the gate into God’s kingdom. He calls and those who hear His voice follow. (John 10:3 NASB)

“Therefore, Jesus said again, ‘Very truly I tell you, I am the gate for the sheep. All who have come before me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate; whoever enters through me will be saved. They will come in and go out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” (John 10:7-10 NASB)

To discover His kingdom is to have discovered His righteousness. Praise God for His grace that called and saved a lost soul. Praise God for our Shepherd who leads us. Praise God for His wisdom and kindness that teach us to walk in the Spirit, and His patience as we learn to overcome ways not fit for His kingdom. Praise the Lord for being His workmanship, beauty from ashes. Praise God for the Holy Spirit who now teaches His Gospel. Praise God for His peace that comes from understanding truth, truth that defeats the enemy. Praise God in His kingdom.
