More Gospel

Less tragic events, like collapsing houses.

Are these notes for a book? I don’t know. Probably not. There have been plenty of books written over the last Two Thousand years. Many saints wanted to share their joy by passing along what Jesus taught them. It helps, but nowhere near that one Book called the Bible. There were lots of authors speaking for God, until the time came to send His Son. Jesus came with the gospel of His Father’s kingdom revealing His righteousness. So, here is more of the gospel.

Jesus taught James who wrote it down.

It is living faith causes the child to seek and do the will of God. A living faith learns that following is for their good. Only good comes from believing Christ and obeying God’s gospel message.

“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, may be compared to a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and yet it did not fall, for it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not act on them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great was its fall.” (Matthew 7:24-27 NASB)

No good comes from hearing the truth and then, walking away. Jesus did not come to condemn anyone; He came to save us from destruction. “For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.” (John 3:17 NASB) God’s Evangelist, out of His mouth came good news to be believed and followed.

The works of God, for man to do, is to believe in the one He has sent. (John 6:29) Faith in Jesus, who can save us from tragic outcomes, is faith that acts on His words.
