But with man, words come easy.
Meanings are changed, some never understood, yet out of the heart man’s words flow. With God, words are different, they are living and will not pass away. His children listen to them. Jesus draws crowds, that’s easy to see, millions claim His name. Church goers, followers, disciples and disciples with titles and degrees flock around Him today. Man’s words come easy so, Jesus puts them to the test.
“Now when Jesus saw a crowd around Him, He gave orders to depart to the other side of the sea. Then a scribe came and said to Him, ‘Teacher, I will follow You wherever You go.’ And Jesus said to him, ‘The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay His head.’ And another of the disciples said to Him, ‘Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.’ But Jesus said to him, ‘Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead.‘” (Matthew 8:18-22 NASB)
Jesus took His disciples to the other side and left the crowd behind. (Reminds me of the coming rapture.) The ones who followed showed no hesitation, they were committed, there was nowhere else they wanted to be but with Jesus. Same thing today, God knows those who have crossed over to be with His Son. They have repented and believe Jesus.
