Tabernacle

God will dwell among His people.

David returned the captive Arc of the Covenant to its tent in Jerusalem. On the day assigned Israel’s congregation came together to worship the Lord with a psalm of thanksgiving. God’s presence had returned to His Tabernacle, that portable earthly dwelling place of Yahweh.

“Give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name.
Make His deeds known among the peoples.
Sing to Him, sing praises to Him.
Speak of all His wonders.
Boast in His holy name.
Let the heart of those who seek the Lord be joyful.
Seek the Lord and His strength.
Seek His face continually.”
1 Chronicles 16:8-11NASB)

They were not ashamed of God but were thrilled having His presence with them. Imagine boasting in His holy name. Imagine being joyful. There is no time like the present. I’m not prophesying, only reading signs as big as billboards, and His promises made long ago.

“After these things I will return,
And I will rebuild the fallen tabernacle of David,
And I will rebuild its ruins,
And I will restore it,
So that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord,
And all the Gentiles who are called by My name,’
18 Says the Lord, who makes these things known from long ago.”
(Acts 15:16-18 NASB, Amos 9:11-12)

“And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among the people, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them, and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:2-4 NASB)

I had a friend who lived for the day. A good life he said he earned. No longer do I have this friend; his days came to an end. And so will end the days appointed to us all, except for those who remain until His coming. Once again God will tabernacle among His people. Time is running out. Boast in His name and be joyful.
