If I was a prophet I would say with certainty, “Not much left.”
But I’m just a man who sees the liars and thieves, and perverts without shame, and those who are ashamed of Jesus. I see the fear of man instead of God, with lust for flesh instead of Spirit. Love’s a word used to manipulate and hate … well, I hear it is everywhere. Count the rumors of pending wars, and the cost in lives of the ones already here. Can you hear the earth cry out in pain, or the silence of the starving? I can.
If I was a prophet few would give me their ear.
Jeremiah warned Israel of captivity, I’m just a man who warns of Hell. Daniel and John were given visions, I’m just a man who believes they are true. It grieves me to see what I see. My burden is heavier than mere disappointment, its weight is God’s hate for sin. Enough about me, I’m just a man who sees.
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life; the one who believes in Me will live, even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die. Do you believe this?’ She said to Him, ‘Yes, Lord; I have come to believe that You are the Messiah, the Son of God, and He who comes into the world.” (John 11:25-27 NASB)
Time. Have you “come to believe”?
