“But when he had thought this over, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary as your wife; for the Child who has been conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. She will give birth to a Son; and you shall name Him Jesus, for He will save His people from their sins.” Now all this took place so that what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet would be fulfilled (Isaiah 7:13-14): ‘Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a Son, and they shall name Him ‘Immanuel,’ which translated means, ‘God with us.’ And Joseph awoke from his sleep and did as the angel of the Lord commanded him, and took Mary as his wife,” Matthew 1:20-24 NASB)
The world will argue with you and say, “The Hebrew word is “young woman, not virgin.” Some deny He is God’s sent Messiah, that is the spirit of the antichrist, and others reject Him as Saviour, they prefer the darkness of their ways. Now, I ask you one important question. “Who do you believe, God’s prophet, Isaiah, understood by Jesus’ disciple, Matthew or those who speak foolishly? They do not have God with them.
Those who believe in Jesus have God in them. Immanuel, God with us in a very personal way. Our Father is Spirit who sends His Holy Spirit to live in we who believe in His Son. Some feel better using His Hebrew name and not Jesus. In any language His name is above all names, and He hears us when we call no matter our nation, tribe or tongue. No longer in a manger, He sits high and lifted up, yet attentive to our needs. Listen to how much we are blessed.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love.” (Ephesians 1:3-4 NASB)
