You probably thought God stopped working when He entered His rest on the seventh day, the day He made Holy. No. He is still working. Or maybe you thought God stopped working when Jesus said, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) No. He is still working. God the Father calls the lost to His Son. I imagine that takes some doing. I did not come right away. Did you?
Then, when we do, we come to understand that we are Jesus’ workmanship. And that the Holy Spirit is working to make us holy. How is that working out for you? Good, I hope. I pray your hunger is to know Him, determined to follow His voice. God is not done. He still has work to do, and we have been included. Christ Jesus in us said, “We must carry out the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming, when no one can work. While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.” (John 9:4-5 NASB)
We are of the day, Christ’s light in the world.
“But since we are of the day, let’s be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and as a helmet, the hope of salvation.” (1 Thessalonians 5:8 NASB) Live the truth in front of the world, light is noticed. We may not see what God is accomplishing so, trust that He will show you someday. Be visible, perhaps the blind will see. Be audible, truth must be heard. “My mouth shall tell of Your righteousness And of Your salvation all day long; For I do not know the art of writing.” (Psalm 71:15 NASB)
Are you ready to go to work??
Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.” Psalm 96:2 NASB) Amen!
