That is what Jesus does, He explains how things work in God’s kingdom. We have heard about physical laws such as gravity, governmental laws, spiritual laws; Ten Commandments God gave to Israel, and the law of Love Jesus gave to those who are in His body, the church. The dos and don’ts for those in the kingdom are blueprints Jesus would use to build an abundant life. Kingdom Laws. Jesus tells us how God’s heavenly kingdom works, it’s up to us to believe Him and obey.
“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened.
Or what person is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf of bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? So if you, despite being (sinful mankind) evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:7-12 NASB)
Not much I can add except to mention that “ask, seek and knock” are continual actions. Perhaps God wants us to know if we are serious in our asking, seeking and knocking. If we are He will eventually answer. We have a wonderful Father who asks but one thing of His children. Love one another.
