What are you offering???
Disclosure: There’s no time to play along with religion. Acting the part (with so many to choose from) is not going to cut it. God’s sees what we give Him, our offering. Statues and rituals, loud music and louder sermons, displays of the flesh attempting to fit in, as manipulators mock God’s Spirit, well, that’s not me. I’m not the guy with programs to keep your attention. I’m just an old guy who has been around and has discovered the power of God’s word.
“If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not (control) bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless. Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained (from) by the world.” (James 1:26-27 NASB)
Wow! “Deceives his own heart”. “Worthless.”
Playing the part, religious acting, can seem so right. It’s deceiving.
“Unstained.” “Pure and undefiled”
These are the sacrificial offerings God receives. To witness the power of God’s word is simple. Believe! Oh! And obey. “Keep oneself.”
