For those desiring satisfaction, contentment and peace.
Believed or not, God’s Spirit sings the truth in the Psalms. Prophecy is not only about Jesus and future events. Prophecy is also fulfilled in the choices we make. There are those who listen and those who don’t, but the Psalms are for everyone to hear. Life becomes smoother when we intentionally take the time to listen.
“Unless the Lord builds the house,
the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the guards stand watch in vain.
In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat—
for he grants sleep to those he loves.” (Psalm 127:1-2 NASB)
It makes no sense to expend our time, wealth (Haha) and energy on some pursuit that is not of God. I know you have done that; we all have. Vanity defined. Sadly, many are frustrated in their choices. All because of their choice to go it alone. Toiling without satisfaction, contentment or peace is the prophesied state of their lives. Stubborn, stiff-necked folks reject having anyone tell them what to do, even God. They are victims of strange virus called pride that eventually destroyed their ability to reason.
The saved can hear the voice of their Lord. We learn to trust Him to build our lives His way. No longer fearful, we are eternally secure in the One who first loved us. “He grants sleep to those He loves.” I wanted God’s love. How about you?
Indeed, I couldn’t agree more
