My Safe Place

Birds and chickens and squirrels and one friendly puppy.

One of my favorite pastimes is feeding the Blue Jays. I had gathered a nice flock to entertain me once a day until we got chickens. They learned peanuts were good to eat and spoiled the time that I and the Blue Jays had together. Feeding became work for the birds now competing with chickens, it stopped being fun and I was not going to spend my money buying peanuts for chickens. So, my gathered flock flew away.

In time, a fence was built separating the back from the side yard, and the birds returned until we received a puppy who likes peanuts. Well, there is one safe place left. Safe from disagreeable and greedy chickens and one fast and friendly dog. Here, near the trees, there are a few squirrels, but the birds and the squirrels get along.

The world is getting worse by the day, eventually the saved will see there is only one safe place. Trusting completely in Jesus, the Word of God.

“The Lord will rescue me from every evil deed and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever.” Amen. (2 Timothy 4:18 NASB)
