Righteous

I remember the Righteous Brothers from my teenage years, when I was confined in prison. They sang with excellent harmony. My favorite song was “Unchained Melody.” And the lyrics “I will be coming home” made my heart cry in longing. Eventually I did, but back and forth through my twenties chasing different things. I didn’t come home until I was thirty-three. Home to Jesus. We all have a story recorded in some heavenly book. Because of God’s forgiveness mine has a lot of blank pages before seeing the light of Christ.

Maybe that’s you, lots of blank pages. Well, if you’re following Jesus, He is writing your story for His Father. Pages of righteousness. If you’re just getting started, trust Him. His death made you right with God. If your book is nothing to be proud of it’s time to make some changes, but only Jesus can save you. It’s a heart thing between you and God.

“For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.” (Romans 5:10 NASB)

Humans can create right environments for plants to flourish no matter the season. God, who is righteous, will cause humans to flourish when they return to Him.
