“He came to His own, and His own people did not accept Him. But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of a man, but of God.” (John 1:11-13 NASB)
So easy to jump for joy knowing Jesus, the Creator of everything, has announced that He is giving Devine Rights to those who receive Him, believing in His name. The Divine Right is to become the child of God. Don’t skip over the key word, “become.”
I have witnessed the prideful foolishly declaring this and prophesying that, all in the name of the Lord. Titles are grasped and theatrics are used to mesmerize the crowds. Hard to find a church where pretend has no place. Pretending to be spiritual won’t save a single soul. There is much to learn becoming the child of God.
“Have this attitude in yourselves, which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bondservant being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross.” (Philippians 2:5-8 NASB)
Jesus set His Divine Rights aside to serve the likes of us. Want to know who His family is? Those who do the will of His Father. Humility and obedience are the results of faith in those BECOMING the children of God. When God’s Garden is fully planted it won’t take long before the harvest.
