For a moment in time
Heading toward my desk I glance out the window and am distracted from work that needed to be done. Six chickens, a squirrel and a blue jay caught my attention, but just for a little while. It’s important to me that I write about faith in Jesus.
We have faith in Him, or we don’t. Weak or strong, a mustard seed or sheltering tree, it is all the word of God we have come to believe, the testimony of Jesus. Aware of my need for forgiveness I came as a beggar to God. He knew me before I was born, and planted His seed long before I was born-again. Thirty-three years germinating until it burst forth as faith. The timing is His.
King David lived to the age of seventy, by God’s grace I’ve reached eight more. God is patience and kind. His Holy Spirit leads us to truth and away from error when we faithfully obey. That is a concept flesh would rather not consider, but those who love Him do.
“For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins [c]with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner?” (1 Peter 4:17-18 NASB)
