God Talking to Solomon

You have probably heard God talking to Solomon about the results of repentance.

“My people who are called by My name humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to the prayer offered in this place.” (2 Chronicles 7:14-15 NASB)

This talk happened when Solomon dedicated God’s Temple in Jerusalem. The people God was talking about was Israel, His possession, and He was declaring His conditions for relationship. Faith in Jesus is now God’s condition for relationship. We are His possession! When His word abides in us, we become His temple, His place for prayer.

So, if we assume the same promise God gave to Israel now applies to our nation (whatever its name), then also know that God brings adversity when a nation turns away.

“As for this house, which was exalted, everyone who passes by it will be astonished and say, ‘Why has the Lord done these things to this land and to this house?’ And they will say, ‘Because they abandoned the Lord, the God of their fathers, who brought them from the land of Egypt, and they adopted other gods, and worshiped and served them; therefore, He has brought all this adversity on them.'” (2 Chronicles 7:21-22 NASB)

Look around! Is it too late? Are we now reaping the rewards of falling away? If that is true, then it is up to you to bow before His throne. Our Father notices and hears when we do.
