“No one can come to me unless the Father draw him, and I will raise him up on the last day.” John 6:44
What happened to us?
We’re not the same, we’re different since we started thinking about things not seen. That was our Father changing our thoughts as He taught us of our need of Christ. Our Creator drew us to His Son, Jesus.
“It is written in the prophets, (Isaiah 54:13) ‘They shall all be taught of God.” Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to Me.'” (John 6:45) Welcome to the New Covenant (Jeremiah 31, Ezekiel 34) that God promised His Old Covenant people, Israel. That is what happened to us. We came to God’s promised Messiah, Jesus. We have been born again. (John 3:3)
“Not that any one has seen the Father, except the One who is from God, He has seen the Father.” (John 6:46) The unseen Spirit of God exposed our “sin” in the light of His “righteousness.” Helplessly aware of God’s “judgement” of sin (John 16:8) we were then given a spiritual gift called faith. (Ephesians 2:8) Faith to believe that Jesus died because of our sin, in our place. (Colossians 2:13) With faith, our assurance of what we hope for, we are certain of those things we cannot see. (Hebrews 11:1) “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life.” (John 6:47)
Father, so many things tried to prevent me from understanding the simplicity of your word. But, Jesus has held me fast in His hand. The compulsions of the flesh brought shame and guilt. You forgave and cleansed me. The foolishness of pride attempted to secure salvation through my own efforts. You allowed me to fail time and again. A father’s love, patience and wisdom prevailed. Thank You, for I have come to see the amazing truth of Your word. We are saved by Your grace alone. Guide my heart and hand as I share the testimony of Your Son, Jesus, the Light of Life.
