“For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. For it is written,
‘I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will set aside.” (1 Corinthians 1:18-19) Wow! God gets right to the point. We who are being saved discover the power of the cross by being forgiven. Those perishing are full of themselves, and see no need for forgiveness. They can make a god to their own liking, if needed.
Absolutes are now confined to the lab having abandoned the field of morality. Today’s Wisdom designs its own gods to agree with its self-serving beliefs. Diversity on steroids, its all the rage! Seldom heard is the voice of God declaring right from wrong. Contradictions are not allowed.
This didn’t just happen. It was planed by Satan who labored for years to corrupt a nation’s morality. It was he who lied about freedom. “The word of the cross” is the truth that sets us free from sin and death. That is freedom! Jesus died for us. We are forgiven, and now the life we have is in Him. Meaning….. He has us covered. Salvation is God’s doing.
