Jesus loves children.
They are not just cute, He sees a treasure in them. And we had better be like them if we desire salvation. “And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, ‘Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.” He is talking to us adults.
“Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me;” He is talking about parents with “converted” lives who are raising their children according to His ways.
“but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.” (Matthew 18:2-6NASB)
My Christmas gift to children.
I’m praying that parents eyes would be open and hearts humbled. I’m waring against compromise that causes children to make light of sin or Satan. The spirits of children are harmed when Christ’s ways are rejected, and I’m sure that He means every word of His “heavy mill stone” illustration.
Perhaps there is a parent to whom God is speaking. I’m here to tell you that He is full of grace. He doesn’t just forgive, he heals and breaks the cycle of compromising sin. Go for it, then children will receive this amazing Christmas gift. The love of God in Christ, the treasure that He saw in them.
