Conforming is a process.
How long it takes depends upon the condition of the saint. The Refiner is the One who must see His reflection in the finished work. God’s children are refined in the fires of this life. All of the stuff that happens comes together for the good, if we love God. Shameful remorse and the fear of the Lord have their parts to play, along with trials and tribulations. They all work together refining our faith. It’s a process that takes a lifetime. Someday we, like Christ, will say, “Into Your hands I commit my spirit.” That is what purified faith looks like. Obedience unto death.
The only thing that holds us back are the weights we hold on to.
