Loss or Rewards

But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be discovered.” Peter describes the Day of the Lord as a day of discovery and judgment. Every thing suddenly exposed. Lifetimes of labor put to the test, how will we enter forever?

Nothing is hidden, everything is exposed by sudden LIGHT. Paul explains it this way, “Each one’s work will become evident; for the day will show it because it is to be revealed with fire, and the fire itself will test the quality of each one’s work. If anyone’s work which he has built on it remains, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned up, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet only so as through fire.” (1 Corinthians 3:13-14 NASB)

So, you can see that what we do, how we build upon Jesus, our foundation, our Savior is very important. Gain or loss, we are without excuse because we have been told. To be saved is to belong to Jesus, your Savior. That is reality. Slave, servant, friend, all will be judged according to their works. Do you suppose that spiritual loss (what ever it is) will be permanent? Was this our only chance? Who wants to enter “as through fire”? Not me!

REWARDS OR LOSS, IT’S UP TO US. THE LOVE OF BUILDING SOMETHING THAT MATTERS IS IN ITSELF AN AMAZING REWARD.
