I remember stumbling down at the bottom of the stairs. Before I could pick myself up from the floor strong arms picked me up. It seem like I flew into an upright possession. That was in Pakistan, and the strength belonged to Abid. He died today.
I remember a man who left all behind to follow Christ. He left for his own safety. His family and neighbors could no longer be trusted with his life. His sin was believing in Christ. Jesus saved him and put him to work serving others. Today he rests from his labors.
I remember the disciples, saying, “We have given up everything to follow you. What will we get?” Jesus answered, “Everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for My sake, will receive one hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.” (Matthew 19:28-29)
God kept His promise, and there are many of us who will grieve the loss of our brother Abid, servant of God.
